The 4th ENYSSP Workshop was held in the city of Barcelona, Spain, on the 13th and 14th of November, 2008. There were about 70 attendants to the Fourth ENYSSP Workshop coming from more than 10 different countries. The majority of attendants came from Spain, but the workshop had a strong international presence with XX% of the participants coming from 8 different European countries.
Keynote speaker Mattia Piffarretti (SWI) commented on his work with UEFA referees and in a workshop he commented on his career as an applied sport psychologist in Switzerland.
In total 9 workshops were held on e.g. the use of feedback (Lina Vaisetaite, LIT), prevention and education in values (Lina Abellanas and Pere Allastrue, ESP), first peer-reviewed publications (Xavier Sanchez, UK/ESP), idiosyncratic imagery scripts (Fredrik Weibull, SWE), surviving a Ph.D. study (Catarina Sousa, ESP/POR), sport and hypnosis (Fabrice De Zanet, BEL), performance in the automotive field (Eva Garcia, ESP) and mental training in elite sports (Jeroen Meganck, BEL). We will also remember the very useful ‘Spanish siesta’ with neurobiofeedback from Oriol Mercade (ESP). Finally, the workshop was closed with a symposium and panel discussion on how to work with fear of failure.
The 4th ENYSSP Workshop is organised by ENYSSP with the support of the Catalan School of Sport and the Catalan Association of Sport Psychology.
